Goodreads: Thirty-five year old fiction writer, Richard Rossi would do just about anything to get his manuscript published. However, months of rejection and unanswered prayers have strained his capacity to hope.
Alone in New York City, he teeters on the brink of alcoholism, as his hope erodes into desperation. His prayers are finally answered when a simple misdirected piece of mail spawns a chance encounter with an extraordinary man, Seth Volos, Publisher. And while their unholy alliance thrusts Richard to the top of every Best Seller list in America, the horrifying outcome for the book's legions of fans is anything but a happy ending.
Kritters Thoughts: Readers always love a book about writing a book and this one is great because there is a definite twist in it all. From the start we are introduced to Richard Rossi who will do anything to become a published author, he just wants to receive one less rejection letter. He ends up at a party where a neighbor has offered to send his manuscript and name to someone who could make all his dreams come true.
Without recapping the entire store, his book is printed and strange things begin to happen. Strange things that he has no control over and can not stop. With a little sci-fi twist, this book was interesting and I kept reading wanting to find out where it was all going to end up.
For the readers who love a little sci-fi, but also love to read how a book impacts society, this is one to pick up. But don't be put off by the sci-fi, I am not usually a fan of the genre and I loved it!
Rating: definitely a good read, but can't read two in a row
