Goodreads:  It begins with a chilling phone call to Casey Woods. And ends with another girl dead.

College-age girls with long red hair. Brutally murdered, they're posed like victims in a film noir. Each crime scene is eerily similar to the twisted fantasy of a serial offender now serving thirty years to life-a criminal brought to justice with the help of Forensic Instincts.

Call. Kill. Repeat. But the similarities are more than one psychopath's desire to outdo another. As more red-headed victims are added to the body count, it becomes clear that each one has been chosen because of a unique connection to Casey-a connection that grows closer and closer to her.

Kritters Thoughts:  The second in a series that centers around Casey Woods who finds herself linked to murders that keep happening around here and with the collection of colleagues that have formed the Forensics Instincts they must get to the bottom of it and quickly.

First, I would recommend reading the first book in this series - The Girl Who Disappeared Twice so you have the back story as to how the Forensics Instincts was created.  Casey is a great character and the team was all the same and I was glad to see that there was character development within the team beyond what was going on on the crime side.  I quickly fell back into the team and enjoying each of their unique skills and how each of them help solve the mystery.  Compared to the first book, I definitely did not know how the crime was happening as quickly - so glad!

I would compare this book series to a CSI show because the crime at the center of the book is different, but you may want to watch/read in order so you know the back story of the characters.  It was fun to revisit these characters, but the crimes were very intense, so definitely had to read something on the light side after this one!

Rating: definitely a good read, but can't read two in a row
